Ron Hornaday Jr, captured his 28th career win in the Nascar Craftsman
Truck Series winning the City of Mansfield 250 Saturday.  All Hornaday had to
do was hold off a few meager challenges from Jack Sprague and David Starr
to win the caution riddled race.  The race had a series record 18 cautions for
85 laps and the race itself was pretty uneventful.

In the early stages of the race, Todd Bodine and Ted Musgrave both
looked unbeatable, but both would suffer from poor pit strategy as they tried to
make it on one pit stop only.  After the race, Ted Musgrave said "This track
needs tore up and completely redone because it's almost impossible to pass
here."  Well Ted, you should come here for a weekly show because there is
lots of passing.  I remember back when the first two Main Event races were
held at Sandusky Speedway back in 1988 and 1989 and Ted didn't seem to
have much problem passing anyone there.  It's nice to see him forget his roots
and wind up another Nascar baby.  Quite frankly, I'm glad Mansfield isn't one
of these Nascar cookie cutter tracks where the racing totally sucks, even
though this race wasn't that thrilling.  I think a lot of these drivers missed the
set up because earlier in the week it was cooler and Saturday is was just plain
hot out.  Maybe Ted if you had pitted again and tried to adjust your truck you
wouldn't have looked like a total douche bag here.  The NCTS should consider
bringing a harder tire next time due to the excessive amount of rubber that
these trucks lay down at this facility.  OK, enough Ted bashing.  Johnny
Benson and David Starr both had strong performances as did Joey Miller.
Former Boston Red Sox player Mike Greenwell did a nice job in his NCTS
debut finishing 20th in his North Trails RV Center Chevy, four spots behind
crybaby Ted.  Greenwell said "I worked my way to about 15th and then all at
once my power steering went out.  From that point on I was just hanging on
hoping I finished on the lead lap.  I'm tickled to death that I did."  At least he
didn't bitch about the track.  For the most part, I'm glad to see Nascar have
some interest in the state of Ohio and I hope they keep coming to Mansfield.  It
was hot Saturday and the track was slick which made for some iffy racing.  I
really don't believe this track is bad like Musgrave claims, he just wants to
blame everyone else for his misfortunes.

Danica Patrick Let's not forget about this pretty girl
making her name in IRL.  Danica
has become a cult hero amongst
kids across the country and god
bless her.  Al least these kids are
choosing racing and not baseball.
Danica Patrick
It's not easy for a woman to make it in racing, and at least
the Indy fans make it easier for her to fulfill her dreams.  I
hope she's around for years to come.  Good luck Danica.
One of the most important
things about racing is finding
cool neighbors to party with.
